Frances Stead
Frances Stead is currently the Managing Director of L’Oreal New Zealand. Educated in the United Kingdom, Frances secured a Master of Arts Honours Degree in Chemistry from Oxford University. Starting out as a marketing trainee at Proctor and Gamble in the UK, Frances promptly earned her position as Brand Manager.
She was soon head hunted by L’Oreal for the role of Marketing Manager, Consumer Products Division, where she spent two years leading a team of 12, before moving to Australia to take up the position of General Manager, Consumer Products Division in 1987.
Since 1993, Frances has been the Country Manager/Managing Director for L’Oreal New Zealand and has worked steadfastly to achieve an extremely healthy bottom line, along with 190 staff.
With both of her appointments in Australia and New Zealand, Frances was the first woman to be appointed to these positions anywhere in the world.
Outside of work, Frances is a passionate sportswoman and horse rider, and has successfully competed in horse riding and modern pentathlon at an international level.
